Without Pressure a Diamond Will Forever
Remain a
Piece of Coal

Pressure can come into our lives in many forms. However most often pressure comes in the form of stress.  We stress about our finances. We stress about our children.  We stress about our job, and about our significant other.  Some of us even stress about being stressed.  Too often we allow the pressures of living to imprison us.  Why?  Why do you stress about things?  Why do you circum to the pressures of life?  When has stres...

Orange Juice and Lemonade

Posted by Kimberly Powell on Friday, April 16, 2010, In : Thought for the Week

While sitting at my desk observing the chaos I call a job, I had this thought, “You cannot make orange juice if all you have are lemons.”  As soon as I had the thought I realized the magnitude of it all.  This is where I am going to head this week.  The thought for the week is……

“You cannot make orange juice if all you have are lemons”

First let’s discuss “orange juice”.  Orange juice is really good for the human body.  It is a great source for Thiamin, Potassium, Vitamin ...

Thought for the Weekend

Thought for the weekend.....Life is about two things...Forgiveness and Love

This weekend I want you to think about this....when was the last time you forgave yourself?  Quite often we forgive others but how often do we forgive ourselves?  Forgiveness of self is a powerful thing.  And to truly love yourself and others it is necessary.  Mistakes are made in life...how often do you forgive yourself for those mistakes?  I'm sure not as often as you should.  Mistakes allow us to learn, so why stay ...

Want It Need It

Posted by Kimberly Powell on Monday, May 4, 2009, In : Thought for the Week
Hello! Hello!

This week I have been thinking about wants and needs a lot which brings me to the Thought for the Week.  What did Plies say, "Want it, Need it".....I've been thinking about those two occasions.

As I think about the kind of man I want; I reflect on the kind of man I need.  And I have realized that what I want and what I need match about 90 percent.  Since the match is only 90 percent, decisions have to be made about the other 10 percent.  You can either give up 10 percent of happin...

Main Chick, Side Chick, or Groupie Part 3 - The Women Respond

Posted by Kimberly Powell on Thursday, April 30, 2009, In : Thought for the Week
I asked for a response from the ladies and they have spoken.

Main Chicks, Side Chicks, or Groupies - How do you identify?

Sunshine
(South GA)

My problem is I am TopShelf (MAINCHICK material) But I find that most men only want side chicks or groupies and I refuse to downgrade. How do you get men to notice that you are a main chick? I think the problem is most men don't know when they are experiencing the main chick because women downgrade to try to trick men into  lasting relationships.
Ladies d...

Main Chick, Side Chick, and Groupies Part 2 - For the Fellas

Alright guys we want a male perspective.  I know I often think like a guy but we want to hear from you.

What makes a girl a groupie in your eyes?

What do you see in a main chick that you do not see in a groupie?

Talk to me!  Keep it real!

Hollar at your girl!

Main Chick, Side Chick, or Groupie!
Which one are you in your own life?

There are three roles you can play in your professional and personal life.  You can either be the Main Chick, Side Chick, or the Groupie.  So my question to you is, what role are you playing?  Okay, here's a better question, do you know what role you are playing?  How happy are you with your role?

When it comes to being the star of your life you have to make sure you only booking roles that you want.  If you want to be a fif...

You Can't Say, "F everyone in the club!" and then walk out.

Posted by Kimberly Powell on Monday, March 30, 2009, In : Thought for the Week
Hello Everyone!

Its that time.....Thought for the Week!  Ready! Okay!

Saturday as I sat with a new friend and watched Katt Williams, It's Pimpin, Pimpin, I  began to think about what would be my message for the upcoming week.  So I continued to ponder as I listened and laughed.  Then Katt Williams said something profound.  "You can't say, 'F everyone in the club' and then walk out."  Genius!  These words stayed with me all night and all day today.  Anytime my friend would say something to me or...

Posted by Kimberly Powell on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, In : Thought for the Week

Hello! Hello!

The Thought for the week is back ladies and gentlemen!  So let's just jump right on in.  Here is my question for you to ponder on for the week.

What is the ultimate act of love?

There are many things you can do to show someone how much you love them, but what is the ultimate act of love?  What is the the ultimate act of love?

I pondered upon this question Saturday on my way home from a step competition in Stockbridge.  Please keep in mind that I had been out all day with my step tea...
